Identifying and documenting "successful practices"

While there is broad agreement that replicating "successful practices" is an effective way to advance, in particular, environmental goals, little has been done to pursue this goal in a systematic manner. In particular, there is a need to analyse what constitutes "successful practice" by providing criteria to determine this and giving guidelines on how to document any such practices.
